If you’re looking for a vacation in a glass, look no further! the Jungle bird cocktail is one of my favorite tiki drinks. This delicious cocktail was created in the 70’s by Jeffrey Ong at the KL Hilton Hotel, where it was served as the official welcome drink. The Jungle Bird features pineapple juice, fresh lime juice and Campari which gives it a slight bitterness that is mellowed out by the other sweeter flavors.
Classic Jungle Bird
Ingredients:
1/2 oz Blackstrap rum or Dark rum
3/4 oz Campari
1 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz Lime juice, fresh
1/2 oz Demerara syrup
Ice
Garnish:
Pineapple leaves
Orchid *optional*
Method:
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake for 20-30 seconds, then strain into a ice filled glass.
